"Explosive Ripple"

The word God gave us for this month is "Explosive Ripple."

The prophetic meaning of a ripple effect often symbolizes how a single action, word, or event—especially one initiated by divine inspiration—can expand far beyond its original scope, impacting many lives and situations over time. Spiritually and prophetically, it carries several layers of meaning.

What is a ripple?

A ripple is a small wave, or series of waves, that spreads outwardly when something disturbs a surface—usually water.

Symbolically, a ripple effect is a small action that causes a wider, expanding effect, beyond its original point. It is often used to describe how small things—words, actions, events—cause reactions that keep spreading further and further, often in ways you can't immediately see.

A biblical example of a ripple effect is found in the story of Gideon.

The Call of Gideon and Ripples of Victory

The Lord called Gideon to rescue His people.

"The angel of the LORD appeared to him and said, 'Mighty hero, the LORD is with you!'...

"Then the LORD turned to him and said, 'Go with the strength you have, and rescue Israel from the Midianites. I am sending you!'

"'But Lord,' Gideon replied, 'how can I rescue Israel? My clan is the weakest in the whole tribe of Manasseh, and I am the least in my entire family!'

"The LORD said to him, 'I will be with you. And you will destroy the Midianites as if you were fighting against one man.'" (Judges 6:12, 14–16 NLT)

The Lord Reduces Gideon's Army to 300

"The LORD said to Gideon, 'You have too many warriors with you. If I let all of you fight the Midianites, the Israelites will boast to me that they saved themselves by their own strength. Therefore, tell the people, "Whoever is timid or afraid may leave this mountain and go home."' So 22,000 of them went home, leaving only 10,000 who were willing to fight.

"But the Lord told Gideon, 'There are still too many! Bring them down to the spring, and I will test them to determine who will go with you and who will not.' When Gideon took his warriors down to the water, the Lord told him, 'Divide the men into two groups. In one group put all those who cup water in their hands and lap it up with their tongues like dogs. In the other group put all those who kneel down and drink with their mouths in the stream.' Only 300 of the men drank from their hands. All the others got down on their knees and drank with their mouths in the stream." (Judges 7:2–6 NLT)

The Ripple Effect

"That night the LORD said, 'Get up! Go down into the Midianite camp, for I have given you victory over them! But if you are afraid to attack, go down to the camp with your servant Purah. Listen to what the Midianites are saying, and you will be greatly encouraged. Then you will be eager to attack.' (Photo via StockCake)

"So Gideon took Purah and went down to the edge of the enemy camp. The armies of Midian, Amalek, and the people of the east had settled in the valley like a swarm of locusts. Their camels were like grains of sand on the seashore—too many to count! Gideon crept up just as a man was telling his companion about a dream. The man said, 'I had this dream, and in my dream a loaf of barley bread came tumbling down into the Midianite camp. It hit a tent, turned it over, and knocked it flat!'

"His companion answered, 'Your dream can mean only one thing—God has given Gideon son of Joash, the Israelite, victory over Midian and all its allies!'" (Judges 7:9–14 NLT)

The Victory

"When the 300 Israelites blew their rams' horns, the LORD caused the warriors in the camp to fight against each other with their swords. Those who were not killed fled to places as far away as Beth-shittah near Zererah and to the border of Abel-meholah near Tabbath." (Judges 7:22 NLT)

This is a month where God is calling the Gideons.

May Is the Month of Ascension

"Eight days later the disciples were together again, and this time Thomas was with them. The doors were locked; but suddenly, as before, Jesus was standing among them. 'Peace be with you,' He said." (John 20:26 NLT)

The ripple effect of His resurrection resurrected them, shifting them from grief to bold expectation.

"I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God's power for us who believe Him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated Him in the place of honor at God's right hand in the heavenly realms. Now He is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else-not only in this world but also in the world to come." (Ephesians 1:19–21 NLT)

"After He said this, He was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid Him from their sight." (Acts 1:9 NIV)

The Ripple Effect

Jesus transferred heavenly authority to His followers. "[Y]ou will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you" (Acts 1:8 NIV).

His ascension triggered the next great move: the sending of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost.

After Jesus' ascension, about 120 disciples gathered in an upper room in Jerusalem, praying in unity.

"They all joined together constantly in prayer." (Acts 1:14 NIV)

Their obedience and unity created the atmosphere for the outpouring of the Spirit. Small, hidden obedience led to worldwide, visible revival.

In short, based on these New Testament events, May (Iyyar/Sivan) is a season of the following:

• Activation
• Transition into greater authority
• Waiting in unity
• Empowerment for explosive movement

It's a season where small gatherings birth massive Kingdom waves—a perfect example of the ripple effect!

A Month of New Movements and Small Beginnings

In Isaiah, around this kind of "May season"—after deliverance but before full empowerment (spiritually speaking)—you will see major "ripple" themes:

"See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness." (Isaiah 43:19 NIV)

New movements rise after destruction. Small beginnings ripple into rivers in dry places—supernatural provision and fresh life.

Connection to the Month of May:

After Passover deliverance, God started birthing new directions in His people.

A Month to Prepare for Outpouring and Expansion

God is calling His people to stretch out, enlarge, and make room, because growth is about to come rapidly.

"Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes." (Isaiah 54:2 NIV)

The Ripple Effect

Preparation in hidden places leads to visible expansion. What looks like a small obedience (stretching a tent) ripples into multiplied influence.

Connection to the Month of May

Just before Pentecost, the disciples were waiting, praying, preparing, then suddenly expansion came. (This waiting period was during the month of May.)

A Prophetic Word of the Lord for May: Closed Doors Will Open!

The Lord says, "This is not a month to think or believe that you are weak, battered, or desolate. This is the time to rebuke all these lies, for I shall release explosive ripples that will impact your life in ways beyond your understanding.

I will REBUILD you with precious jewels and strengthen your foundation.

I am calling those who will trust in My power and rely on My strength, not on their own strength.

You will discern and recognize that apart from Me you can do nothing, but that My presence will change YOUR story.

My presence will cause a ripple effect of glory to overflow and overcome the most impossible situation.

This is a month to lift up your hands and watch Me win this battle for you.

I am destroying every spirit in the high places, every spiritual force that's assaulting you and robbing you of your health or stopping you from moving forward into your destiny.

Appropriate the power of My resurrection, for it creates an explosive ripple effect of VICTORY, even through closed doors. You will shout, 'DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR STING? THE RESURRECTED KING IS RESURRECTING ME!

My resurrection will cause a ripple effect which will shift you from sadness and grief to BOLD EXPECTATION. You will believe Me for the impossible, for My incredible great power is only for those WHO BELIEVE.

WHERE ARE THE CLOSED DOORS?

POINT TO THEM, FOR THEY WILL OPEN FOR YOU THIS MONTH!

"I have declared a ripple effect of expansion.

Prophesy over yourself, for you will stretch your tent and lengthen your cords. I have decreed it, and it shall come to pass.

For in the coming day, no weapon turned against you will succeed, for I have decreed a ripple of protection and victory—an explosive ripple of supernatural provision.

For your Creator will be your Husband.
